Cognitive-behavioral rehabilitation

Welcome

Welcome to our website!

Cardiovascular disease is associated with significant limitations and is responsible for around 10 million deaths worldwide meaning that people suffering from heart disease need a wide range of support.
In Germany, cardiac rehabilitation is available to help you cope with the disease, restore your performance, and participate in your day-to-day activities.
We know however that psychological factors can significantly influence the course and severity of a cardiovascular disease, and therefore combined cardiac and psychological rehabilitation treatment could offer an advantage. If such an approach is more beneficial as conventional cardiac rehabilitation is unclear, and we thus would like to compare two rehabilitation programs: the usual cardiac rehabilitation and a new cognitive-behavioral cardiac rehabilitation program.
This new program will focus more on the psychosocial burden that often coexists with or results from the cardiovascular disease.
